Ozlib Announce
Ozlib Announce is a newsletter for Australian librarians and people interested in libraries. The content is restricted events which relate to Australian libraries and librarians taking a fairly broad view of what that might be.
Content
Content for the service will focus on events in Australia although they may not necessarily be located in Australia. The subject scope will be interpreted fairly liberally as "of interest" covers a much wider ground than library science. Examples of the kinds of material which may be included are -
- News related to individual Australia libraries and librarians
- Major appointments to libraries in Australia
- Copyright
- Developments in the publishing industry in Australia
- New of major cultural institutions
- Interesting product announcements by Australian companies which supply to libraries
- Information related conferences
- Major library related job announcements
Submitting copy
Proposed copy should be sent to ozlib@tony-barry.emu.id.au or to tony@tony-barry.emu.id.au
Copy should be submitted as plain text although other formats will be accepted if they can be appropriately converted or mounted on this web site. HTML and RTF are preferable to Word. Formatted text will not be used in the email version of the newsletter although it may be used in the archives.
Material from commercial firms will be accepted but a subdued style would be best with URL links to further information.
The editor will extract and summarise material as appropriate but will try not to distort the meaning in the copy.
Who can submit copy
So who can submit copy? Basically anybody, although if you are submitting information concerning the organisation in which you work make sure that appropriate clearances are met as this is a public forum and the archives will be indexed.
